Through the Classroom Earth Program, the National Environmental Education Foundation's Wildlife Conservation Professional Development Grants are offered to 6-12th grade teachers with at least 2 years of classroom-based teaching experience by the end of the 2011-2012 school year. The Grants are for a 6-week online course offered by the Wildlife Conservation Society. Participating teachers learn how to bring wildlife conservation into the classroom, facilitate scientific learning, and connect students with their natural surroundings.
Eligible applicants must:
- be a full-time employee of a school district
- anticipate a classroom teaching assignment for the 2012-2013 school year
- join Classroom Earth as a member (free)
The Classroom Earth grant opportunity also supports teachers seeking graduate level credit.
